We are located on beautiful and tranquil Isla Carenero, just 200 meters from the main island of Colon and the primary town of Bocas.  Isla Carenero (Careening Island) is the smallest of the nine major islands of the Bocas del Toro archipelagio.  Carenero was named by Christopher Columbus because the cove we sit on was used by Columbus and his men to "careen" (lay them over on their sides for repairs and cleaning) their ships.
